Tools for Remote Exploration: A Lithium (Li) Dedicated Spectral Library of the Fregeneda–Almendra Aplite–Pegmatite Field

The existence of diagnostic features in the visible and infrared regions makes it possible to use reflectance spectra not only identify mineral assemblages but also for calibration classification satellite images, considering lithological and/or mapping. For this purpose, a consistent spectral library with target minerals rocks is needed. Currently, there big market pressure raw materials including lithium (Li) that has driven new image applications Li exploration. However, are no reference petalite (a mineral) large, open datasets. In work, was built exclusively dedicated pegmatite exploration through remote sensing. database includes field laboratory collected Fregeneda–Almendra region (Spain–Portugal) from (i) distinct (spodumene, petalite, lepidolite); (ii) several pegmatites other outcropping lithologies allow satellite-based mapping; (iii) areas previously misclassified as using machine learning algorithms comparisons between these areas. Ancillary data include sample location coordinates, conditions, color, (iv) type face measured, (v) equipment used, spectra, (vi) photographs, (vii) continuum removed files, (viii) statistics on main absorption automatically extracted. potential future uses reinforced by its major advantages: provided universal file format; allows users compare spectra; large number complementary comparison shape, asymmetry, depth minerals.
